Virtualized Cell Phones?

There may come a time when your BlackBerry has Windows Mobile and/or Mac OS X - not anytime in the near future, but it's an interesting idea to think about in the present. Motorola is now an investor in VirtualLogix, which is a company trying to merge virtual machines and cell phones.

This translates into being able to switch between Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and BlackBerry OS. So, if you have a plethora of business contacts in your BlackBerry, but use Windows Mobile 6.1 on your home computer, you could easily access the info.

Microsoft recently came out with the integration of its Remote Mobile Management software, which allows IT managers to troubleshoot end users' phone features while abroad. Will this trend take off and bring users one step closer to virtual phone capabilities? Time will tell...
