The Great: Competitively priced, great performance, beautiful design, can run both OSX and Windows
The Not So Great: No FireWire 800, no media card reader
The Verdict: The new MacBook sports an updated Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a sleek, smart look. Expect to see the 13-inch MacBook in coffee shops everywhere! The Great: Besides looking like a masterpiece and fitting in an envelope. The wireless capabilities of the MacBook Air put it in a category of its own.
The Not So Great: The lack of upgrade ability and cap at 80GB on the hard drive are a bit of a downfall for this gen 1 MacBook Air. As well, the lack of an optical drive, though their wireless capabilities are impressive, makes me wonder if the world is really ready for a fully wireless optical drive. But on Apples behalf for the low cost of $99, you can get a MacBook Air SuperDrive that will hook up via USB.
The Verdict: This is a 3 pound chunk of laptop heaven. Definitely the sleekest of the ultraportables on the market. Though we were the first in line to get our hands on the MacBook Air we would recommend waiting for 2nd gen so apple could make it more configurable. The Great: Sleek titanium shell, powerful Core 2 Duo processor, lightweight and portable.
The Not So Great: Less than desirable battery life, only 2 USB ports.
The Verdict: An improvement on the PowerBook G4, users will be pleased with the solid design and additional software all packed into that sleek, smart shiny laptop we have all come to know and love.
